A Toby Carvery Sunday roast is a freshly carved carvery: beef, gammon, pork and turkey (plus lamb at weekends), with unlimited vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, stuffing and gravy. Sunday and bank holiday carveries start from £15.49 per adult.
This guide covers what is on the deck, how each meat is finished, what is included in the price, the meat-free options, how the Ulti-Meat and King Size upgrades work, and how a visit runs from table to second helpings.
What Is a Toby Carvery Sunday Roast?
A Toby Carvery Sunday roast is slow-roasted meat carved fresh at the carvery deck, served with a self-service spread of vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, sage and onion stuffing and gravy. It is the dish the Toby Carvery brand is built around.
Unlike a traditional pub roast, the carvery is part table service and part self-service. You order at your table, a carver puts your meat on the plate, and you help yourself to the sides, with unlimited returns to the deck for the sides. Each meat has its own finish: beef with a dripping glaze, gammon with marmalade, and pork with apple and sage, so the plate is not carried by gravy alone.
Sunday is the busiest day, and Sunday pricing also applies on bank holidays and some special dates. The sections below cover the meats, what the price includes, the meat-free options, the upgrades, and how to order.
The Toby Carvery Meats, Explained
Beef, gammon, pork and turkey are served every day, and lamb joins them at weekends. Each joint is slow-roasted and finished differently.

| Meat | How it is finished | When it is served |
|---|---|---|
| Roast beef | Beef dripping glaze | Daily |
| Gammon | Marmalade glaze | Daily |
| Roast pork | Apple and sage glaze | Daily |
| Turkey | Simply seasoned, not glazed | Daily |
| Roast lamb | Traditional roast | Saturday and Sunday only, subject to availability |
Roast beef
The beef is finished with a dripping glaze and is served every day.
Gammon
Glazed with marmalade, which adds a sweet edge that balances the saltiness of the meat.
Roast pork
Finished with apple and sage, a classic pairing for pork, and served every day.
Turkey and lamb
Turkey is simply seasoned and served daily. Lamb is the weekend meat, so a weekday visit will not have it on the deck.
Worth knowing: lamb is listed for Saturday and Sunday service only and is subject to availability. If lamb is the reason for your visit, confirm with your restaurant before you book.
What's Included in a Toby Carvery Sunday Roast
The standard carvery price covers your carved meat and the full self-service deck. At the restaurant we reviewed, that meant a minimum of three roasted meats, free sides and unlimited returns.
Included in the carvery price
- Carved roast meat from the deck (a minimum of three roasted meats at the restaurant we reviewed)
- Unlimited seasonal vegetables
- Unlimited roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings
- Sage and onion stuffing and gravy
- Unlimited returns to the carvery deck for the sides
Not included
- Ulti-Meat upgrade (+£1.99)
- King Size upgrade (+£1.99)
- Starters, drinks and desserts
- Extra sharers such as Pigs in Blankets
How many meats go on your plate on a standard carvery depends on the restaurant's carving approach and how busy the deck is. The Ulti-Meat upgrade is the guaranteed way to get every available meat.
Freshly roasted, not reheated: the Toby Carvery site describes kitchen teams starting early in the morning to roast and glaze joints through the day, which is why the quality is meant to hold up from a Tuesday lunch to a Sunday service.
Vegetarian, Fish and Meat-Free Sunday Roast Options
The carvery is not only for meat eaters. There is a Meat Free Carvery with vegetarian gravy, a fish option and a few other meat-free mains, and the vegetables, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings on the deck are shared by everyone.

| Meat-free and fish options | Notes |
|---|---|
| Meat Free Carvery V | Vegetarian gravy, same unlimited deck. Priced below the meat carvery. |
| Mushroom & caramelised onion | Served in a red wine sauce |
| Salmon & dill en croûte | Salmon in a white wine sauce (809 kcal) |
| Broccoli & Brie Parcel V | £7.00 |
| Toby's Vegan Sausage Roll VE | £7.00 |
| Toby's House Salad VE | £5.00 |
| Steamed Seabass | £8.00 |
The Meat Free Carvery is priced below the meat carvery. The menu we reviewed lists it separately at £5.00, so ask your restaurant how it is charged on Sundays and what it includes. Check the allergen guide if you are ordering for someone with a dietary requirement, and see the vegan and vegetarian guide for more.
Extra sides and sharers
If the unlimited deck is not enough, or you want something to share at the table, these were listed at the restaurant we reviewed.
| Extra side or sharer | Price (from) |
|---|---|
| Glazed Pigs in Blankets Sharer | £6.00 |
| Hummus V | £3.00 |
| Spicy Southern Fried Chicken Strips | £3.00 |
| Stuffed Yorkshire Pudding | £3.00 |
| Soup of the Day | £3.00 |
How Much Is a Toby Carvery Sunday Roast?
A Sunday or bank holiday carvery starts from £15.49 per adult. That is about £4.20 more than a weekday carvery at £11.29, and the Sunday price also applies on bank holidays, so a Bank Holiday Monday is not priced like an ordinary Monday.
Weekday
From £11.29, Monday to Friday.
Saturday
From £12.99 to £13.99 depending on the restaurant.
Sunday
From £15.49, and the same on bank holidays.
Most discounts exclude Sundays. See the full Toby Carvery prices guide for kids, breakfast, set menu, starters and drinks.

| Day | Carvery price (from) | Notes |

| Sunday | £15.49 | Busiest day. Most discounts excluded |
| Bank holidays | £15.49 | Priced like a Sunday |
Weekday set menu: at the restaurant we reviewed, a two-course set menu started from £13.29 and three courses from £15.29, Monday to Friday only. It is not available on Sundays.
Ulti-Meat, King Size and Carvery For One
There are three variations on the standard carvery worth knowing before you order.
Ulti-Meat Carvery (+£1.99)
Puts all of the available meats on one plate instead of choosing one. On a weekday that means four meats, and at weekends lamb joins them.
King Size (+£1.99)
A bigger portion. At the restaurant we reviewed it added extra meat, a Yorkshire pudding and two chipolatas.
Carvery For One
The same roast portioned for solo dining, at the standard weekday or Sunday price. Its official name is Carvery For One, not "Toby's Choice", which some third-party sites use by mistake.
How Ordering a Toby Carvery Sunday Roast Works
The carvery is not quite table service and not quite a buffet. Here is what happens from sitting down to going back for seconds.

- Order at your table. Staff take your carvery or meat-free order, plus any starters and drinks. This is also when to order from the kids' menu.
- Wait to be called. You are told when to go to the deck, timed so the meat is freshly carved.
- Choose your meat. A carver puts your meat on the plate, or all of them if you ordered the Ulti-Meat.
- Help yourself to the sides. Vegetables, roast potatoes, stuffing and Yorkshire puddings are self-service and unlimited.
- Go back for more. Most people return to the deck at least once before dessert.
- Pay at the table or in the app. Settle with staff or through the Toby Carvery app.

A Toby Carvery Sunday roast is a carvery plate: freshly carved roast meat from the deck with unlimited vegetables, roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, sage and onion stuffing and gravy. At the restaurant we reviewed, the carvery price included a minimum of three roasted meats and unlimited returns to the deck. Exact choices vary by restaurant.
2What meats are served at a Toby Carvery on Sunday?
Roast beef, gammon, roast pork and turkey are served daily, and roast lamb is listed for Saturdays and Sundays only, subject to availability at each restaurant. The Ulti-Meat upgrade puts all of the meats on one plate.
3How much is a Toby Carvery Sunday roast?
A Sunday or bank holiday carvery starts from £15.49 per adult, about £4.20 more than the weekday price of £11.29. Prices vary a little by restaurant, so treat them as "from" prices. See the full Toby Carvery prices guide for every price in one place.
4Do bank holidays cost the same as Sundays?
Bank holidays and some special dates are priced like Sundays, even when the day of the week is a Monday or Friday. Special dates such as Christmas can follow different pricing again, so check your restaurant.
5Can I get a discount on a Sunday roast?
Mostly no. The Carvery Club welcome offer, stamp rewards and Blue Light Card all exclude Sundays and bank holidays. Check the app for any live deal before you go, and read the Toby Carvery offers guide for what applies on other days.
6What does the Ulti-Meat upgrade cost?
The Ulti-Meat upgrade adds £1.99 to a standard carvery and puts all of the available meats on your plate instead of one. It is separate from the King Size upgrade, which also adds £1.99 at the restaurant we reviewed and added extra meat, a Yorkshire pudding and two chipolatas.
7Is there a vegetarian Sunday roast at Toby Carvery?
Yes. A Meat Free Carvery is available with vegetarian gravy and the same unlimited vegetables, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puddings from the deck. Other meat-free mains listed at the restaurant we reviewed include a Broccoli & Brie Parcel (V) and a Vegan Sausage Roll (VE). See the vegan and vegetarian guide.
8Is there a limit on how many times I can go back to the deck?
No limit on vegetables, roast potatoes, stuffing or Yorkshire puddings. Meat is carved to order, so how much you can ask for is down to the carver and how busy the deck is.
9Do I need to book a Toby Carvery Sunday roast?
Walk-ins are usually accommodated, but Sunday lunch is the busiest service, so booking ahead is the safer choice. Book through the Toby Carvery website, app or your restaurant directly rather than a third-party platform, which has occasionally not synced with the restaurant.
10Can I pay by cash or card, and is parking available?
Card and contactless are preferred, including Apple Pay and Google Pay. Most restaurants have on-site parking, but some use a time-limited system shown on signs in the car park, so check on arrival.
11Is the Sunday roast good for children?
Children can have a kids' carvery from £6.49, a smaller portion priced below the adult carvery. Kids' meals are excluded from the main discounts. See the kids' menu for what is included.
12Do Toby Carvery Sunday roast prices change between restaurants?
Yes. Prices differ by region and restaurant and change over time. The figures here are "from" prices based on the menu we reviewed in October 2026, so confirm the price with your local restaurant or in the app.
